One to One Therapy
Psychotherapy and counselling are both interactive processes which utilise a range of methods and techniques, these include exploring historical experiences or working on issues in the here and now. The focus is to help the client deal with issues that are preventing them from living life fully.
You may want to have more than one session a week. This may be beneficial as part ongoing work and needs to be discussed with your therapist.
What training do psychotherapists have?
The Surrey Centre’s therapists are trained at Post Graduate and Masters level. All our therapists are experienced in dealing with all aspects of eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. They receive regular clinical supervision and are committed to professional and personal development. We believe these standards are essential to keep the standard of therapy high.
What is our therapeutic approach?
At The Surrey Centre we use an integrated method of therapy, drawing on different therapeutic approaches and adapting them to meet individual clients needs.
The aim of therapy is to provide emotional and cognitive support. Interventions raise awareness of and challenge existing rigid behaviour patterns, explore the defensive motivation behind them and their consequences. We encourage our clients to be autonomous and take responsibility for and control of their lives. Therapy provides encouragement and support during this process. The goal is for our clients to achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.
